I found this piece to be one of the easier explanations to understand for lay people attempting to grapple with this difficult topic.

A Holiday Message from GreatWest GMAC

Not long ago, a Great West GMAC Real Estate professional lamented that as a child, she would often daydream about living in a home similar to the doll house she had. The doll house became among the most cherished of her memories.

As we grow older and hopefully mature to a certain degree, we realize that what we wish for as a child isn’t always possible. However, something about the little Victorian doll house, decked out in holiday grandeur, had never drifted far from her dreams for the future.

Little did she know years later she would become a Great West GMAC Real Estate Pr... Read more

Harpreet Dhillon has spent many solitary evenings in the past year as a clerk at his father’s small liquor store in Elk Grove, stocking merchandise, manning the cash register and, on occasion, dealing with difficult customers.

On Sunday, the soft-spoken, 22-year-old clerk found himself face to face with an armed robber in the Old Town liquor and convenience store on Elk Grove-Florin Road. Dhillon complied with the robber’s... Read more

New First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Bill
Let’s all hope this bill passes. It will continue to spur the economic and real estate recovery.

WASHINGTON — Buying a home is about to get cheaper for a whole new crop of homebuyers — $6,500 cheaper.

First-time homebuyers have been getting tax credits of up to $8,000 since January as part of the economic stimulus package. But with that program scheduled to expire at the end of November, the Senate voted 98-0 Wednesday to extend and expand the tax credit to include buyers who already own homes. The House is expected to vote on the bill Thursday. Buyers who have owned their c... Read more
